The NWA-3550 Dual-radio Outdoor Access Point is designed to provide outdoor wireless access and site-to- site/multisite wireless connectivity. Featuring durable watertight housing and a built-in heater with temperature sensor, the NWA-3550 can withstand harsh weather conditions and temperatures as low as -40 degrees C. Used in combination with ZyXEL’s range of outdoor antennas it provides a flexible solution suitable for a range of outdoor applications. Moreover, network administrators can centrally manage and monitor the NWA-3550 using ZyXEL’s NWA-3160 Hybrid Access Point with built-in Wireless controller functionality, Stand-alone or Managed Access Point operating modes

Easy Deployment, Maintenance and Support
The NWA-3550 can function as either a stand-alone access point, or managed access point. In managed access point mode network administrators can centrally deploy, manage and monitor the NWA-3550 using ZyXEL’s NWA-3160 Hybrid Access Point with built-in Wireless Controller functionality. This greatly reduces maintenance and support efforts providing a lower total cost of ownership.

Flexible Outdoor Installation
Featuring durable watertight housing and a built-in heater with temperature sensor, the NWA-3550 can withstand harsh weather conditions and temperatures as low as -40 degrees C. Pole or wall mountable, Power-over-Ethernet, and a range of supported antennas provide a flexible outdoor wireless solution. And, because it’s dual-radio, network administrators can create site-to-site/multi-site links using the low interference 5GHz band, while simultaneously providing wireless client access on the 2.4GHz band.

Secure
All communication with the Wireless controller is securely transmitted over an encrypted tunnel ensuring sensitive configuration data is safe from hackers. And, in managed access point mode no configuration data is stored on the unit, so the configuration data is even safe from theft. This is especially useful when the access point is located outdoors. NWA-3550 also supports rogue access point detection and the latest security standards for wireless data encryption and user authorisation.


Scalable
Because NWA-3550 can be configured as a stand-alone access point or managed access point, businesses can grow to centrally managed system by simply changing the operating mode, and adding ZyXEL’s Hybrid Access Point (NWA-3160). The NWA-3160 with built-in wireless controller functionality enables network administrators to centrally deploy manage and monitor up to 8 NWA-3550’s.
