D-Link Outdoor 2.4GHz Wireless Access Point 54 Mbit/s:
The official marketing text of D-Link Outdoor 2.4GHz Wireless Access Point 54 Mbit/s as supplied by the manufacturer

D-Link, the industry pioneer in wireless networking, offers a reliable high-performance wireless outdoor solution—The D-Link AirPremier® DWL-2700AP Wireless Outdoor Access Point, capable of delivering a maximum wireless signal rate of up to 54Mbps1 in any outdoor environment.

The DWL-2700AP is an ideal addition to business networks seeking to extend wireless signal coverage over outdoor real estate. Hotspot operators can use this rugged outdoor access point to support and deliver wireless connectivity to their customers—whether they are indoors, outdoors, on the terrace, or even on a boat in the middle of a lake. Another ideal deployment application includes bridging networks that are located in separate buildings.

Enclosed in die-cast watertight housing and equipped with a built-in heater with temperature sensor, the DWL-2700AP is designed to endure almost any outdoor condition. For advanced installations, this Access Point has an integrated 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) port that
allows you to install the device in areas where power outlets are not readily available.

In addition to easy installation, the DWL-2700AP can be configured to operate in any one of five modes: Access Point (AP), Point-to- Point (PtP) Bridge, Point-to-MultiPoint (PtMP) Bridge, Repeater, or Wireless Client. For compatibility with other D-Link networking devices, the
DWL-2700AP uses Wireless Distribution System (WDS) technology when running in Repeater mode. The DWL-2700AP also supports both load balancing and redundancy, increasing total aggregate bandwidth while providing a failsafe response mechanism for your wireless network.

When used in any operation mode, the DWL-2700AP provides maximum security by supporting WEP Encryption (64/128/152-bit), 802.1x user authentication, and WPA. MAC Address Filtering, Wireless LAN segmentation, Disable SSID Broadcast, and support for AES (Advanced
Encryption Standard) are just some of the other additional security features.

Network administrators can manage all the DWL-2700AP’s settings via its Web-based configuration utility or with Telnet. For advanced network management, administrators can use D-Link’s AP Manager or D-View SNMP management module to configure multiple access points from a
single location.

With integrated PoE support, extensive manageability, versatile operation modes, and solid security enhancements all built into one sturdy box, the D-Link AirPremier DWL-2700AP Wireless Outdoor Access Point provides everything network administrators need to extend a
wireless network to the outdoors.
